INTERVENTION
The chin operation consists in the placement of a solid silicone prosthesis in a pocket created in front of the chin. The incision can be made in the skin under the chin, leaving a small scar under the chin; or inside the lower lip, in front of the lower incisors.
To reduce an overly prominent chin, it will be necessary to perform a sanding or a section of the bone (osteotomy) through an incision located inside the mouth. Osteotomies allow the jaw to be advanced, shortened and narrowed.
It is important to identify possible asymmetries or differences in shape or size between one side of the face and the other.

POST-OPERATORY
It is fast. The edema and discomfort disappear after 48 hours. The stitches, if the incision is made inside the mouth, it is not necessary to remove them because they are reabsorbable.
Apply ice to the area after surgery. Extreme oral hygiene and use mouthwashes with antiseptic.
