INTERVENTION
A facelift surgery can last between 1 hour and four hours, depending on the extent of the surgery. The latter also determines whether the surgery can be performed on an outpatient basis or if it will require an overnight hospital stay. When the drooping is en bloc (not only of the eyebrow), the most appropriate technique to use is the frontal lift, which is performed with endoscopic assistance through a series of incisions of about 10 mm behind the ears. In the case of also including the neck we speak of a cervico-facial lift where the incisions are added in the lower neck or under the chin, depending on the greater or lesser sagging of the skin. The complete surgery is a longer surgery but with very good results.
POST-OPERATORY
The surgical bandages are removed in 24 hours, being replaced by a compression garment to accommodate the tissues in their new situation and contain the edema, this garment will be maintained from 7 to 15 days depending on the evolution. The stitches of this type of intervention are removed between 8/10 days. As for the recovery time, partial facelifts are very fast: after 48/72 hours, they look socially acceptable. On the contrary, patients with a wide facelift will be swollen for about 10 days and will have bruising for 2 weeks.
